Hi, I’m Dana! I’ve been dancing since I was a wee one, both in classes and at home. I studied jazz, modern, contemporary, ballet, and other forms of dance through high school, with a few classes during my college years. After diving deep into ’80s aerobic videos during the pandemic, I started trying all the video workouts YouTube had to offer. Eventually, I decided to challenge myself by taking an in-person class, and a Reddit post from several years ago led me to PulsePDX! I knew the vibes were exactly what I was looking for when I saw all the disco balls, but after several other students came up to me after class to see if I had a fun first time (I did), I knew PulsePDX was the welcoming, fun space I needed to be in.
I love moving to music – whether it’s dancing, pilates, or just shakin’ my booty while I cook dinner. It’s a way for me to shut my brain off and let my body take over.
As a POP Pilates instructor, my goal is to provide you with numerous options so that you can move your body in a way that’s supportive today and not just on any other day. Some days our bodies are tired and need a break! Some days our bodies have too much caffeine, and we need to do some jumps to burn the energy off! Come take a class with me and use the time to listen to what your body needs!
When I’m not teaching, I love reading horror and mystery books, gardening, making weird art, and snuggling with my cats. You can also catch me on Sundays at my sister’s bakery, Starter Bread!
Something about me that would surprise people? I collect antique doll heads 🙂
My guilty pleasure is reality TV and corn nuts (I could eat a bucketload!)
Class Information
POP Pilates® with Dana on Thursdays at 6:30 pm is a total body, equipment-free workout that creates a rock solid core and a strong dancer’s body like nothing else can. 3 MILLION+ people are practicing POP all over the world. Say bye-bye to your grandma’s Pilates. This is something totally different. POP Pilates is dance on the mat to Top 40 Hits.
