Bio

PulsePDX Teacher Nicki

I have been dancing since the age of four, classically trained in ballet and jazz. At age 12, I decided that hip hop and cheer were more my style, so I switched gears! I started teaching zumba in 2012 but my heart belonged to hip hop. That led to choreographing my own style, one that is accessible to everyone! Last season I joined the Las Vegas Aces WNBA dance team, the High Rollers, a fabulous over 50 dance group and performed at the Ace’s home games and in the championship parade.

What I love most about teaching is that the workouts are created with the students in mind. I want people to feel free, let loose and enjoy the music. This is a no judgement zone – you do you! People should try Hip Hop Fitness because the music in this class will make you want to move your body and bring out your inner swaggiest self and help you feel like a bada$#!

When I am not dancing, I am a language teacher, doctoral candidate in languages and mom. I moved here from Las Vegas because of the friendly vibe here in Portland, and love how kind and welcoming the people are. Bienvenidos a todos!!!
