What is your PulsePDX story?

Amy VI started coming to PulsePDX for U-Jam after it wasn’t offered at my old gym anymore. What I found was an amazing space and a supportive community, and started taking other dance fitness (like Werq!) and strength/flexibility classes. Now, I can’t imagine going anywhere else, and I love my time at Pulse. So have my friends and family who have since joined me. As a fat queer person, it can be stressful to work out at a regular gym and Pulse is just the opposite: welcoming, energizing, perfect for me!

What are some of your favorite things about PulsePDX?

No mirrors, great lighting and sound, amazing instructors, fun community and events, supportive students, and a variety of classes.

What do you do when you aren’t dancing with us?

I’m an attorney for a non-profit working to dismantle the industrial food system and replace it with food and agriculture that is healthy and just for people and the planet. I’m also a home gardener and cat/guinea pig parent.
