What is your PulsePDX story?

I foundPulsePDX Member Megan Pulse in 2021, fueled by a profound desire for transformation. The pandemic had left me feeling an emptiness in my body, mind, and spirit. I desperately needed more movement in my life, so I began my search for an outlet when my youngest son started preschool. I finally had a few precious hours each week dedicated to self-care. My first class was Dance Fitness with Danny, and I felt an instant connection. It was love at first dance! It was clear that I had found my place and I immediately signed up for a membership the same day.

I’ve been at Pulse for 3 years now!

What are some of your favorite things about PulsePDX?

My favorite thing about Pulse is the amazing and supportive community I’ve found there. It takes a special kind of person to wake up, let loose, and shake your booty at 8 am and those are my people! Pulse has become a vital outlet for self-expression. When I dance, I’m free from the distractions of the outside world. I feel present and connected with my body, it’s like therapy for me. Dancing at Pulse has become my sweetest escape, where I can feel comfortable and safe to be my goofy, sexy, wild self (without the hangover).

What do you do when you aren’t dancing with us?

When I’m not dancing, I love spending quality time with my family. I have two sons, aged 8 and 6, who keep me on my toes and bring me so much joy! My husband, Sergio, and I have been happily together for nearly 14 years. He owns a wine shop, Flor Wines, in the Pearl District, where I help manage their social media. I also have a blast working at my sister and sister-in-law’s clothing store, Ruby Shade, in Happy Valley, where I also assist with their social media. Additionally, I am deeply committed to volunteering at my sons’ school whenever I can.
