PulsePDX Teacher Fernando

TEACHER

Fernando M.

Currently I am teaching Low Impact Dance on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and POP Pilates on Monday and Wednesday evenings.

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT PULSEPDX

community

The simplest answer to this question would have to be the community and opportunity to teach and share a common love of something that means so much to me. That is…… DANCE.

MY STORY

how I got started

I  started my technical dance training at the ripe ole age of 22 when I enrolled in the Dance Program at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle Wa. My dance training included Ballet, various forms of Modern Dance technique, and Jazz Dance. I graduated with a BFA in Dance 4 years later and went on to dance with many local  and regional dance companies in and around the Seattle area. Most notably, I danced for several seasons with Spectrum Dance Theater, a Jazz/Contemporary Dance Company, and also for the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line Entertainment Division in their Broadway-style shows performed on their cruise ships.

SUPPORTIVE, KIND & WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT

why join me?

In teaching Low Impact Dance, I am hoping I can help people find new ways to enjoy dancing to music in a way that takes a little less toll on the body. I try to find fun and memorable songs with a hint of challenging choreography that will hopefully leave you with a satisfied feeling of joy and accomplishment, as well as experiencing what is known as that “Pulse Magic”.

Such a great intro class into Pulse or if you just need something fun and low key. This is exactly what I needed to add to my routine!
